Risk Control Specialist

- Work closely with the Director, Asset Optimization to support factories in implementing loss prevention recommendations or finding alternatives to resolve problematic items ;
- Participate in preventive visits with insurers to understand risk exposures (at least 2 visits/month) ;
- Review insurers' engineering reports and comment, when necessary, to assess and suggest ways to reduce or eliminate risks;
- Ensure supervision and monitoring of insurers' loss control activities ;
- Report on the status of recommendations and identify trends, among others ;
- Contribute to the management of complaints relating to the goods until their conclusion and provide regular updates to stakeholders ;
- Attend meetings on corporate property claims ;
- Maintain collaborative and productive working relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- Technical Diploma in Fire Prevention or ACS in Property Insurance or certification in a related field ;
- Experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment ;
- 2 to 3 years of relevant experience with a direct damage insurer or broker ;
- Experience in hazard identification and control ;
- Knowledge of mechanical and risk control systems (asset) ; Experience with building codes, fire departments ;
- Written and spoken bilingualism (US clients, partners and/or subsidiaries) ;
- Attention to detail ;
- Strong problem solving skills ;
- Open-mindedness ;
- Availability to travel and visit operating sites.
