Building Mechanics Technician / Auditor

- Organize and manage in-depth audits of various buildings and their components throughout the Quebec City region, ensuring compliance with current standards and regulations, in collaboration with architectural technicians and project managers ;
- Produce a detailed inspection plan, identifying all electromechanical equipment to be inspected ;
- Collect and evaluate all relevant information on the electromechanical systems of the target buildings ;
- Conduct site surveys to assess the condition and replacement value of various mechanical and electrical components ;
- Document all observations and classify issues according to their severity and urgency to establish an appropriate action plan ;
- Develop comprehensive inspection reports including recommendations for repairs and necessary improvements in terms of interventions, based on both the normal life cycle of the system and its current state;
- Contribute to quality control of deliverables ;
- Estimate the value of the electromechanical components of different asset fleets based on the information gathered during inspections and taking into account specific standards and requirements ;
- Participate in various tasks related to the evaluation and improvement of building infrastructure.
Requirements
- DEC in Building Mechanics Technology or Building Inspection, BAC in Building Mechanics or Mechanical Engineering ;
- 0 to 2 years of practical experience in the inspection of electromechanical systems (asset) ;
- Knowledge of audit principles, practices and techniques ;
- Knowledge of building and infrastructure standards and regulations ;
- Ability to assess the costs of repairing and replacing mechanical and electrical components of a building ;
- Knowledge of AutoCad software and Office suite ;
- Advanced technical report writing skills ;
- Autonomy and effective project management ;
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with clients and stakeholders ;
- Oral and written bilingualism (asset) (English-speaking clients and suppliers) ;
- Good time and priority management ;
- Rigour, initiative and integrity ;
- Valid driver’s license ;
- Availability to travel frequently in various areas of the province of Quebec and occasionally outside Quebec.
