- Supervise mechanical engineering projects as a whole ;
- Meet with clients, coordinate teamwork and ensure financial performance of projects ;
- Contact suppliers and contractors for pricing requests ;
- Work with the Managing Director and existing team to prepare project delivery cost estimates and estimate project delivery fees ;
- Make budget cost estimates of the work ;
- Ensure compliance with client content, requirements, budget and timelines;
- Manage operations of multi-disciplinary field teams (unionized environment);
- Lead and attend site coordination meetings and prepare detailed project timelines ;
- Ensure cost compliance and quality of the finished product within the time limits prescribed and agreed with the customer ;
- Control the quality of execution and compliance of deliverables ;
- Organize and coordinate site staff and work teams ;
- Plan tender documents in collaboration with the Managing Director and follow existing procedures ;
- Analyze OHS risks related to the project and take the necessary measures to eliminate them and enforce health and safety instructions and company regulations ;
- Maintain a healthy and harmonious work environment.
Requirements
- BA in Mechanical Engineering ;
- Minimum 15 years of experience in building mechanics ;
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) ;
- Relevant experience as a project manager or project director
- Great passion for construction ;
- Agri-food experience (asset) .
- Spoken and written bilingualism (Anglophone clients) ;
- Very good knowledge of the MS Office suite (Excel, Word, AdoMS Project ;
- ASP construction map ;
- Problem solving orientation ;
- Leadership and team spirit ;
- Good knowledge of mechanical, steel assembly, structures and welding ;
- Availability to work evenings and during weekend shutdowns (asset) ;
- Excellent manager ;
- Professionalism.
